HISTORY

Pumilte will be 60 years old in 2007. Begun as a distributor of masonry and plaster supplies in 1947 it now focuses entirely on masonry and related landscape materials. Founded by Stan Hammer, the company is still owned and operated by his sons. The Salem yard continues to operate from the original site and the Tualatin yard serves Oregon’s largest market, the Portland Vancouver metro area. Those two locations sell directly to contractors and the public. In addition, Pumilite sells brick and stone throughout Oregon working in conjunction with distributors in various markets. Pumilite represents major face brick manufactures to the trade with full time architect representatives. Pumilite provides full time sales representatives to homebuilders and their customers. Full time sales representation in landscape products includes instructional sessions for contractors and engineers. A large inventory is warehoused and delivery service is a company tradition.
